Many pet owners are concerned about can rabbits eat rice.
Rice can be polished and steamed (brown). Steamed rice is more useful because it contains quite a lot of useful substances, much more than polished rice. However, vitamins and fiber will still not be enough to feed the animal properly. But this cereal is indispensable for diarrhea, as it has an astringent effect.
But it is contraindicated to introduce polished rice into the diet of animals. After grinding, only starch remains in this grain, which provokes fermentation processes in the gastrointestinal tract – so it, on the contrary, can cause diarrhea. After all, it is known that the ears have a weak digestive system. Some rabbits do not even try to cure diarrhea, but just hammer it, so that the disease does not affect the entire population. Rabbits are strongly contraindicated to rice in general, both polished and steamed. Do you know it? In the middle of the XIX century, the rabbits began to conquer Australia. Colonists, who came to the recently opened for the rest of the world continent, brought this animal with them. Because of the lack of predators in the Australian fauna, which naturally regulate the population of bunnies, they broke up very quickly. Nowadays, it is believed that of all-natural causes, the rabbits are the most harmful to Australian agriculture.
Rabbits also need vegetables: root vegetables – turnips, carrots, beets, you can give parsnip. Of green cultures, they prefer spinach, broccoli cabbage, stems and cauliflower leaves, pea pods and beans, and parsley. They eat rabbits and regular cabbage, but its quantity in the rabbit diet should not be dominant. Very fond of rabbits and green salads, but they are not too useful. Naturally, it is not worth feeding your pet something alone. All vegetables should be given one by one or combine them into vegetable mixes. Do not let the rabbit clean the potatoes: they are absolutely useless for him!
Sometimes, the rabbit can be offered a small amount of fruit or berries, but not as a staple food, but as a treat. Especially rabbits like apples, pears, raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries.
All vegetables, fruits, herbs, as well as brought from the summer cottage or the forest tree branches, must be thoroughly washed before giving the rabbit. However, it is important to remember that washed greens, before giving the rabbit, must be dried. In no case should not give the rabbit and wet grass: this can cause him a serious illness.
In calculating the amount of food that the rabbit needs every day, focus on the rabbit itself: it will never eat more than its body should. If the food is left undone – next time you should reduce the portion, but if the rabbit feeder in the middle of the day was empty – the portion should be increased. Feed remaining from the previous day (except for hay and solid food) from the cell should be removed. Feeding rabbits is best every day at the same time. Any new food should be introduced gradually so that you can see how well the rabbit adapts to it.
If you follow all the rules of feeding the rabbit, you can be sure that it will always be healthy and fun, with thick shiny fur.
