The world’s only pink stingray hit the camera

The sea creature of the rarest color was captured off the coast of Australia.

The author of the photo, Christian Lane, shared his amazing shots on the social network Instagram.

During a dive, the photographer noticed a creature of bright pink color in the viewfinder of the camera. At first, he decided that the equipment was failing. But then he became convinced with his own eyes that the color of the animal is real.

Scientists cannot explain with certainty the nature of such coloring. It is assumed that it occurs as a result of pigmentation disorder towards red shades. This deviation is called Erythrism.

Unusual pink stingray was first noticed by scuba diving enthusiasts in 2015.
